TEACHERS: THE LADDER OF STUDENT’S SUCCESS
Every child is a potential genius and every successful leader, was once a student. A teacher exists because of a student who needs learning through the help of a mentor. This is one of the major reasons why a famous adage says teaching is the noblest of all profession as it teaches other profession. A great teacher always consider student’s achievement as mentor’s pride whereas student’s failure as mentor’s challenge.

    2. Start the day with a smile. Teachers play a great role in the success of every child. The mood of the teacher will be contagious and can affect the absorption of learning in a good or in a bad way.

    3. Treat your students like your own child. Teachers are the second parents of students. Mentors should not be only concerned on mental development of every child but should be sensitive as well on the physiological condition of every learners. If needed, give them counseling and don’t get mad easily to naughty students as you don’t know where they’re coming from.

    4. Provide rewards and consequence. A stimuli can get them extrinsically motivated. If they do great, make them feel it is good, but if they fail, give them something in return that will be beneficial to their own learning.

    5. Be a disciplinarian teacher not a terror one. Respect should be given willingly and not just because of fear. Fear can demoralize students’ behavior towards you and the lesson and you don’t want that to happen.

    6. Teach them in a way that they deserve. Set an example of a good professional. Don’t corrupt them in any way like attending class late and not prepared. You should be a master of your craft. Students get easily motivated with bright teachers. Mastery is the greatest instructional material.

    7. Be their talent scout. Help them unleash their talents inside. If they have doubts with their abilities, show that you believe and you care to support. If they don’t have the resources, help them and provide it if you can afford. Be their number one fan.

    8. Teach them the values they needed for life. Academic lessons is for the brain and values is for the soul. Prepare them to cope up with the challenges of life while maintaining a positive outlook and love for humanity.

    9. Help them define their own definition of success. No one is alike. Success isn’t always about money, it is more about fulfillment. Help them discover that the definition of success is really and how they will possibly meet it.

    10. Monitor. Your job will not be over until it’s over.

Always remember a mentor is not praised because of the already genius students but because of back row students who have excelled in their own definition of success.
